Mud day

Yesterday was international mud day. And for all those of you who didn’t know to celebrate, my kids seemed to get extra muddy for you too 😉
In our making our new house our home, our backyard is in a bit of a transition. We removed the wood chips that the previous owner had under their swing set. The chips hurt my kids feet and pretty much felt like wasted space. So we will eventually build our own play set and sod underneath (when the weather would be more accommodating. But in the mean time we have a open dirt space perfect for mud play.

Muddy moments of our kiddos exploring and playing. Perfect moments that celebrate being kids (Husband and I both remember playing in mud/making mud pies). We also had some friends over to play in the mud also (but for privacy I won’t show any of them).

Protect yourselves from the sun

The past few days have been pretty hot (104*Friday, 108*Saturday, and a cool off to 91*today). So we have gotten back into the sunscreen before outside play routine (we tend to fall out of it during winter).
Since today was not quite as hot as previous two days, I took the opportunity to weed a little bit in our backyard. Well, as I came back to the patio from the sideyard, this is what I discovered…

So evidently I need to put the sunscreen bottle up out of reach after slathering up the kiddos.
