Since thanksgiving I have been in overdrive. We hosted thanksgiving here so that came with its our stresses. Then I co-organized a “Christmas for Kids” one day event with a friend for our church. We hosted about 20 kids for a morning of crafts, snacks, stories, and singing. It was a lot of work and both of us were exhausted afterwards, but the kids heard the wonderful story of the birth of our Savior so it was worth it.
Then I had a ton of baking and prep for Miss G’s birthday party. We wanted to do something special but also keep it fair (since we did only small gatherings for the boys 2nd birthdays). So we hosted a gingerbread house decorating party. I made 5 batches of gingerbread for the 10 houses (one for each kiddo) and several cookies for the adults to munch on as well. G and everyone had fun. (And one friend even hinted to maybe making it an annual thing, lol.)
So funny when G opened her gift from Grandma and Grandpa that had new hair “pretties”, she wanted to wear them all! And that backpack from family (Daddy, myself, and the boys) was an instant hit. She even went to bed with it!
Back in February I talked about the house buying dating process. Now 3 almost 4 months later. I can officially say that Husband and I are home owners. We received our keys yesterday after about a month of hiccups in communication between realtors and banks. But we have them so now it is time to clean new place, move all if our stuff, and clean out the old place.
We are ready to make this house our home. This will be the first place we can paint and decorate for the long term. Of course because this is our first place I am slightly nervous on how Husband’s and my likes and dislikes mesh since we have never had to talk about it before. Either way, it is ours.
Most women remember certain details of both but tend to block out or forget most of the pain.
This week is the week I forgot how bad teething can get. I don’t remember the boys being all that bad with teething. J woke up during the night crying and wanting cuddles when he teethed his molars. I, honestly, don’t remember any difference in E with any of his teeth-maybe just a cranky day but no distinct difference. Well…..G is way, way different. She went from this smiling happy girl:
Inconsolable crying. Rolling away from any cuddle or contact. Fingers in her mouth trying to make her gums feel better.
There are happy moments but any little thing can change that in a second. She trips over the dog who has been laying on the same spot for the past hour-her smile turns to
So we will be roughing it through this week….and then forgeting how bad it all was…until the next set comes in 😉
First of all, posts are still not coming as frequently due to our unreliable internet and also to the very scary blue screen of death that happened on my computer this past week! But I will share with you a very exciting week we just had. J had three tball games this past week. He was so cute in his uniform. He also loved seeing family come out to watch him play.
And it was even cuter for the very first game they had the kids names announced on the loud speakers. J was announced as “J, the jackhammer” and he ran out to join his team.
J is one with red shoes
J loved batting and running the bases.
He did great. He was all smiles after each game.
Miss G made monumental strides (pun intended) in walking today. First, when she thought I wasn’t looking she walked from the rocker to the zebra in her room-about 6 steps. Of course it also happened when I didn’t have a camera handy.
Then I grabbed my camera and she decided to show off. She walked, stopped, and blew a kiss.
Then she showed off again. She proceeded to walk across her room (while stopping for the boys walking in her path), turn at her zebra and walk a couple more steps.
While I am rejoicing that G is making progress, I am trying to prepare myself for the added stress of keeping track of yet another walking/climbing body at the park.
So J has entered into the world of organized sports. He is starting his first season of t-ball. He has had a tee for awhile now and knows what baseball is; so we are hoping this season is a great start. Here J is at his first practice. He is the youngest on his team so he has to try a bit harder, but did his best.

Husband was there helping out which I think J loved helped make him more comfortable around so many new faces.
So I was curious the other day and came up with this…all three kids at about a year old.
See how similar they are. Crazy huh. And now fast forward, three years, two years, and 1 month respectively and see how different yet the same they look.
It will only change more are they grow up. I can’t believe how fast they have grown already. I am so proud of them.
